This super casual diner was recommended by a family member. We came for breakfast and it wasn't too crowded. I ordered the big breakfast plate which came with two eggs scrambled, a biscuit, bacon (ordered extra crispy), hashbrowns, and a waffle. Everything came as ordered and was good. Nothing special, pretty basic, but fed me. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with country gravy, hashbrowns, and toast. He also ate my waffle. He wasn't extremely impressed with anything but he's not a big breakfast person. His main complaint was that you could taste the oil in the steak. The two of us had a lot of food, two drinks, and tip for $25.

Good Breakfast. Good dinners. Very much like a "meat and three" with changes of the menu per night

Family diner-type food. You can always count on a solid tasty meal here, reasonable prices, and great customer service. We always come here for breakfast at least once while visiting family in Fort Walton Beach. I love the fried catfish special with mash potatoes and gravy and collard greens. Everything tastes fresh and homemade.

Their breakfast is okay.. Other than that, the food isn't very good. Definitely overrated because it's been around for a while.

This place is stuck in time. Do not come here unless you love to eat anything that is covered in Grease. The menu hasn't been updated since the 1950s. There is not a piece of fruit inside the entire building. They've never heard of yogurt. The orange juice comes straight from the cheapest container they can buy. All of the cereals are of the sugary children's variety. The so-called vegetable omelette was nothing more than the hashbrowns served inside. It was dripping with oil inside and out. Save yourself. Move on down the road.

Good country cooking. The fried okra was yummy, as were all the sides! A lot of locals here.

Love this cafe! Go for breakfast all the time! Never had empty cup of coffee, service wonderful, and their early bird specials can't be beat!!!

Took the whole family- wife, 5 yr old and 2 yr old everybody loved it. We were sat in less than 5 minutes on a Saturday morning at 9:00 am. I recommend the Gerard omelette and biscuit and gravy. Price was right where it needs to be for the amount of food you will receive.

This place is affordable with Great service and food. Don't pay the tourist prices for ok food.. It's located close enough to everything but out of the way. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Check it out and you will be happy.

There's nothing to rant and rave about this place. Everything is just ok.Our server did keep forgetting things we asked for. She never mentioned her name to us. Its not my favorite place. There wasn't a wait. We went in earlier today about 8am.

Corn Beef Hash is out of a can, waitress was new and said it was "fresh". Maybe it was freshly opened?

Love our kitchen away from home... After working all day it's nice to know there is a place to go and eat good home cooked southern food. It's our Monday Spaghetti night place. And we feel like family. Love Jenny to pieces. See you soon.

I have been here several times. weekdays, weekends, early or late. Consistently excellent service! The staff from seating to cashing out are friendly, smiling, and polite. Service is prompt without being pushy. The breakfast specials are available daily til 10am. The biscuit is like grandma made (if I had a white southern Grandma) with love. Great breakfast every time!

Daisy is an awesome server!! She talked to the kids and made us feel like family. The next time we come visit FWB, we WILL stop back at Joe and Eddie's just to sit in her section. The food is very flavorful and plentiful. I recommend this place to everyone I meet.

If you want home cooking, this is the place to go!

Ok food, we had breakfast...nothing special. Omlette and chicken fried steak. Very basic diner food, bland. Bisquits were good. Service is absolutely terrible! Food was plopped on the table right along with the ticket and that's always a que to sip your drinks because you're never gonna see a refill.

1st time customer. The atmosphere was great and the breakfast food was delicious.I would recommend to anyone on the area.

Great breakfast, comfort food, served very quick! Biscuits are huge and served pipin' hot. Good place to stop on the way home from your vacation.

OK, so only 5 reviews before me so far but 4.5 stars? Really? Trust me. This is a 3-star place if there ever was one, at least insofar as breakfast goes. It's probably more of a local place than a touristy place which is actually nice. The decor is plain and straight-forward. I had the Mother Tom Omelette. It was stuffed with chopped up sandwich-meat ham which was OK; but the sliced cheese did not do this omelette justice. Come on, guys! Is real shredded cheddar cheese really that much more money? No, it's not. It would make a big difference here. Their biscuits are decent. Moist and cake-crumbly. The hashbrowns were good enough. The service was very friendly and attentive. I came here based on the 4.5 star review; but I should have known that 5 reviews was not really a good sample to go on. It's definitely no higher than 3. It's not horrible. It's just no where near a 4+ restaurant.

I cannot get enough of this place. Love the bfast! I go almost every weekend.

Homestyle breakfast...just the way your grandma makes it. Great atmosphere and definitely great service. It is a must go!!! I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

AHH Yes Joe and Eddies...I have been a regular since the 1970's and even though I no longer live in FWB I still come back every time I am in town...Like a lot of us who grew up here in the 1970's the Old Location at Highway 98 and Perry Avenue was a local Landmark...ya always knew after ya got off work or after a night of hard drinking at Victors..Hogsbreath..Chans..etc ya would run into everyone ya knew getting there late night eat on before the drive home...I believe I passed out or slept in every Old Red Booth in the old location while playing the little old style nickel juxeboxes that were located on each table...the friendly local waitresses who had seen and heard it all did not mind and the cops getting their coffee loved to make fun of all the drunks back then as well....The only change in my order in 40 years was back then it was Mother Tom..Hash Browns...English Muffin and a Tab to drink....now its Mother Tom...Hash Browns..English Muffin..and a Diet Coke to drink....still as good as ever..waitresses are still long time locals and friendly as ever..heck I think a few may have worked there back then!!...only reason it's not getting 5 Stars is the current location in the old Po Folks Building does not have the charm of the old one...no dilapidated red booths...no nickel jukeboxes on each table that rarely worked...no built up 30 year grease smell and feel...no brick walls..etc..in other words every thing that truly makes a greasy spoon great...mostly a locals joint but any tourists reading this it's worth the drive in from Destin or The Island...you will pay half as much for twice as much food that you would get in the tourist joints

Local landmark in Fort Walton Beach, FL since 1954. Good Food, Fast Service, From People who Care is their motto. This place definately would fit into the show "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives"...... just not much to look at from the inside or outside but a locals favorite for decades..... Their prices are low for the area and the amount of food you get is surprising... .especially from the kid's menu. Breakfast items seem to be ordered up at all times of the day and Sunday afternoons are packed tighter than 4 people in a SMART car... If you want homestyle cooking and to get your money's worth this is the place to go!!

Often times, when you go to a small diner, it'll either take too long to prepare the meal or it'll be lacking the quality of a small American diner. This place did neither; breakfast was fantastic, was quick, and was easily affordable. Staff was helpful and friendly, and it even had a few tv's inside to keep caught up on morning sports during your weekend brunch. Hard to beat for a diner!

Ok food. I had steak and eggs. The food was bland. Wish they put a little more effort in making the steak better.

OK, I wanted to like this place. Heard about it, and looking for a good family restaurant. Have tried both the FWB and Okaloosa locations. Tried the country fried steak and roast beef. I cannot give it more than not the worst. Steak was OK. Roast beef was not that tasty and too salty. Potatoes were watery. Cole slaw is mediocre at best. I know everyone has their own idea of cole slaw, but this ranked in bottom half for me. Frankly, I've had better food at Denny's. Service was pretty good. I try to be as forthright as possible when I rate a place, but I cannot in good conscience rate this place very high. I very seriously doubt I will ever return, and I would not recommend it to others. It's getting harder and harder to find really good food out there, and this place really isn't it. For more than $14 with tax and tip I just do not feel there was any value to it. I'll pay more for really good food, but going out for mediocre food is only a bother.

This is your typical casual southern restaurant. Everyone is friendly and the food is pretty good and you leave happy. I visit Fort Walton Beach every other year to see relatives. We like going there for breakfast.

First time diner here, went for breakfast. Ordered the ribeye, hashbrowns, eggs and toast. Everything was good enough. Nothing was seasoned, however, so I had to perk it up. The place could use a good cleaning, though, to include the restroom. That was one thing that stuck out for me.
(3)Wesley W.
The food was ok but I found a hair in my food. Food seemed like it was out of a can or prepackaged. We left still hungry and we spent $30 for two of us. I have never seen such a thin omelette in my life. Overall the experience was very mundane.
(2)Terie M.
Great little breakfast spot. Simple menu and simple prices. The omelets and biscuits are great- we went every Sunday and I always ordered the same thing the Gerrard Special Omelet. Service can sometimes be hectic since they get so busy- but that's a good thing right?
(4)Jennifer B.
Awesome breakfast spot in fort walton beach. Try the pancakes or waffles!
(5)Bob K.
I've eaten here multiple times and was never disappointed. I always get two eggs, sausage patties, hash browns, and biscuits with gravy. Everyone's always nice and foods always hot.
(5)Megan R.
My favorite breakfast place in fort Walton! Gerard special is a must! I've heard the lunch/dinner menu is just as good... But I can't seem to stray from the breakfast menu!
(5)Floyd W.
Great place to eat, but don't ask for a slice of bread, they'll charge you for the whole loaf and not at Walmart prices!
(3)Sharon R.
Love this place. Breakfast is good and service is great and quick.
(4)Joe N.
Best diner in town hands down. Fast and friendly service every time. Their omelettes are great and you have to try their homemade breakfast sausage. Reasonable prices makes this place a no brainer.

OMG what the hell is with the beef tips and rice? ALL THE TIME?????? I'm still not quite sure I know what a beef tip is anyway so I had the meatloaf. Meatloaf complete with CHUNKS of cracker crumbs??? and gristle? How do you get gristle in meatloaf? The waitstaff was rushed a little bit. Claiming someone didn't show up blah blah blah....who's problem is that and why do I care??? Should I eat and then tell them my boss didn't sign my paycheck??? I think not. One GOOD mark is that at least it doesn't smell bad.
